Fatberg removal from UK sewer pipelines

Projects
Anglia, UK
www: website

The enormous fatberg was found in UK sewers was approx. 330ft in length and 9.5″ (100m long and 25cm thick) and taking up half the flow capacity of the pipe. The gruesome fatberg was one of 30,000 sewer blockages a year in East Anglia – 80 per cent of which are caused by wipes and fats.

“This pipe has been an ongoing problem for us with flooding incidents in the area as a result. When fat gets poured down plugholes it congeals and sticks to the sewers creating blockages. We have used our own jetting equipment many times, but now it has hardened meaning we needed to bring this ultra high powered jet in for 10 days to remove the solidified fat and grease.”
